Whitney is one of those brides that is just so warm, sweet, and adorable that you just smile when you think of her. I had such a great time when I met with her and her sister and mom. They are just too cute and really, really fun people to work with. Whitney chose the details and design of the cake. She wanted it to be tall and elegant. Even though we met several months ago, this is one of the cakes I've been looking forward to the most this winter, and I was really happy with the final outcome. Whitney and Jordan held their wedding reception at Noah's in the main ballroom, which has really tall ceilings, so she wanted the cake to be very tall.....and it was. Each tier was 6 inches high, so the cake was about 2 feet tall. Once we placed the cake on the cake stand and extra tall cabaret table, it was very tall and very impressive. It looked stunning set up at their beautiful reception. The cake was covered in ivory and black fondant. The bows are done in fondant as well. The only inedible parts of the cake were the brooches in the center of the bows. Whitney can keep those as a keepsake from her wedding cake and hopefully use them in her wedding album or memory book. The reception decor was so pretty. The wedding was just a week before Christmas, but it didn't feel like a Christmas wedding. They did such a great job of giving it an elegant wintery feel. One of my favorite details were in the floral centerpieces, which had beautiful willow-like twigs mixed in with the flowers. The twigs had these large crystal beads tied to some of the branches that gave them an icy look, and it was just a really pretty little detail. I had to take a few minutes to walk by all the fun framed photos of the happy couple that they had set out. Whitney is not only sweet and bubbly, but truly is gorgeous! The cake flavors were also a lot of fun. Whitney chose some really delicious combos, like spice cake with caramel buttercream, white chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream, and red velvet cake with Bavarian cream buttercream. It's always fun to have multiple flavors to give your guests an option of what they want to have. Whitney did a great job choosing a nice variety of flavors for her guests to choose from. I want to thank Whitney and Jordan for choosing me to be part of this truly special day in their lives. I had a wonderful time working with them. It was truly a pleasure. Congratulations Whitney and Jordan! May your new lives together be full of happiness, joy, and many blessings! |
