Cake-A-Licious, Custom Wedding Cakes

Happy Birthday Dane!  We did this cake for my absolutely adorable nephew, Dane, who just turned 4 years old this past week! My sister showed him several pictures of cakes, from Iron Man to Spiderman to Batman (he loves all the superheroes!), but once he saw a picture of a pirate ship birthday cake, he said "Mom, I want that cake!" Dane was also specific about the flavor he wanted, chocolate cake. For the filling, we decided to go with a kid and adult favorite, cookies 'n cream. Dane is an absolute Cake Monster. He loves the stuff! We marvel at how much cake this little guy can eat. So we had to make sure he got the cake he wanted. The cake was a super hit at Dane's party. It was a lot of fun to do. First time doing a pirate ship for me, so I got to really just play and try some new techniques I haven't done before. I've been wanting to do a pirate ship for a while now, so what better opportunity than to do one for my favorite 4-year-old in the whole world, Dane! At the end of the party, he came up and quietly gave me a big hug. That made it all worth it! |
