Featured Wedding: Olivia and Justin

Congratulations Olivia and Justin!

Olivia and Justin's wedding reception was probably my all-time favorite wedding reception to date.  Olivia had so many absolutely adorable ideas for her vintage, shabby-chic-themed reception held at the stunning Sleepy Ridge in Orem, Utah.  She worked with the fabulous and so talented Linda Winnie for her floral design.  I've done a few weddings where Linda and her team have done the floral and design elements and am always blown away by them.  She is truly one of the best!  My entire bedroom is shabby chic, so I loved hearing about Olivia's ideas for the decor.

For her wedding cake, Olivia wanted to do multiple smaller cakes in different colors, textures, styles, and shapes instead of the traditional tiered cake.  All the cakes were done in buttercream, and every cake was a different flavor.  She combined smooth, rough, lined, and ribboned/striped buttercream textures between the cakes.  The colors were lavender, pale and pastel pinks, and whites.

My favorite of all the cakes was this adorable little birdcage cake.  The flowers and bird were made from fondant, and the rest of the cake was covered in white buttercream with piping details on it.

She found the most adorable little vintage pink dresser she used as the cake display table.  It had crystal handles, and she filled some of the drawers with old books and flowers and left some of them open to see what was inside.

For wedding favors, Olivia found adorable pink and silver individual cupcake boxes, which we placed a single cupcake inside of and topped them off with sweet little buttons in various colors.  Such a cute detail!  She had 2 different flavors of cupcakes for her guests to take home, and we stacked each flavor in their boxes on separate vintage tables set at the door for guests to take as they left.

Olivia had so many other adorable details at her reception, I couldn't possibly list them all here, but she is so creative and it all came together beautifully.  I'm so glad I got to be part of this amazing wedding and reception.

I wish Olivia and Justin an absolutely wonderful new life together.  Congratulations to the happy new couple!
